Who are we?
Fife Rape and Sexual Assault (FRASAC) is an independent voluntary organisation offering a range of free and confidential support services to anyone, male or female, who has been raped or sexually assaulted at some point in their lives. |
What can we offer you?
We can offer you
- face to face support
- outreach to all areas of fife
- support and information for friends and relatives of survivors
- practical support to access other agencies
- support through police and court procedures
- crisis appointments
A support worker can meet with you anywhere across Fife and will try to find a venue, which takes into account your need for comfort, privacy and confidentiality.
How can I get referred?
Referrals can be made by phoning either of our offices on the numbers provided. Ideally we would like you to contact us yourself if you would like an appointment.
Don’t worry, we realise you may need support in taking this massive step and you might wish someone to contact us on your behalf. If so, we would prefer they did this with you present if at all possible.
We aim to provide a first appointment within a week to ten days of the referral, however if you have experienced a recent assault we will try to meet with you as soon as possible.
We will not place any restrictions on the length of time you can use our service, or on the areas of difficulty you might wish to discuss.
For partners and family members we offer shorter-term support, which can be at intervals appropriate to the person concerned.
Confidentiality
We have a strict policy on confidentiality and as a rule we do not release information about clients to anyone else without their permission.
The information, which we will ask when you first make contact / or phone, is:
- Referral source – if from a second party
- Client’s name
- Clients contact details (for cancellation in case of unforeseen circumstances)
- Any special needs or consideration
